I took some time to get familiar with the @DriftHQ rental for a much-needed shakedown session for Pro Am. Since my comp car was tied up and time was running out, this was the perfect solution to get some seat time and keep the momentum going. From there, we made our way to Englishtown for our final Formula Drift test day before comp.... My focus was all about dialing in my chase and getting comfortable with other drivers. Things were going smooth—until I made the wrong call that turned into a full-on disaster and I had the hardest crash of my life. It was completely my fault. Trying to make the most of testing, I did “one more” entry practice on nearly dead tires since there was a bit more left after doing my first chase practice lap. The car was basically totaled with less than a week to turn it around for the next event. I want to thank the track and Chris Napp, the EMT and track staff and all the media and drivers that came to check on me , gather pieces of the car and help get us off track. It’s a tough lesson to learn. Im super thankful to have an amazing team that has my back. I know we’ll rebuild even stronger.
